What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is like a capable assistant that can actually take action — it remembers context, runs on a schedule, and works on its own. Unlike ChatGPT, which answers questions and forgets everything when you close the tab, Toutouwai keeps running in the background and does real things: search the web, get tasks done, and follow up on a schedule.
Can my agent browse websites?
Every agent can search the web and read pages — news, prices, articles, research. The $1 Nest agent is lightweight and sticks to reading. Paid tiers add full browsing for interactive sites — the ones that need clicking, signing in, or that load more as you scroll.
Do I need technical skills?
No. If you can use Telegram, you can use Toutouwai. You talk to your agent like you'd message a person. "Check my email every 3 hours for event bookings" — that's it. The agent works out the rest.
Does Fledgling need an API key?
No. Fledgling ($5/mo) includes credits — it works out of the box.
What about Nest ($1/mo)?
Nest uses your own AI key. OpenRouter offers a free tier — sign up there and you're ready to go. Anthropic and OpenAI keys also work.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Month-to-month, no contracts. Cancel any time from Telegram or email us.
What happens if the agent makes a mistake?
Errors show up right in your chat. If a scheduled task fails, Toutouwai tells you what went wrong. Nothing is irreversible — everything runs in your agent's own private space, safely away from your phone and computer.
Is my data private?
Your conversations and files stay in your agent's own private space. We don't use your data to train models. If you bring your own AI key (Nest plan), your conversations go straight to the AI provider you picked.
What is Hermes?
Hermes is the open-source AI agent framework Toutouwai is built on. It's what gives your agent its tools — web browsing, code execution, file system, memory. Toutouwai manages the hosting, Telegram interface, and skill packs so you get the power without the ops.
I can host Hermes myself for free. Why pay $1?
You can — and you're welcome to. Toutouwai costs $1/mo because your time is worth more than that. We handle the VPS, updates, backups, Telegram setup, and skill packs. If you enjoy ops, self-host. If you'd rather just use the agent, we're here.
